My Story

Hi! Sponsor, how are you? I hope you have a beautiful and blessed day alongside your loved ones. In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. First of all, my family and I are grateful to you and to Living Water because thanks to your support I receive medical and dental attention in the clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. I want to tell you that we continue attending the Catholic Church once a week.  As a family, we are grateful to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to me during the visit, so I already have Jesus in my heart. My mother`s name is Rufina Chingo Mendez. She is 37 years old. At the moment, she earns a living by working as a maid three times a week. Moreover, she raises hens, pigs, and cows to sell and get some income. We grow corn and black beans for our family´s consumption. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Esperanza Pastor Chingo, and I am 18 years old. As you know, I am not studying. So, I want to tell you that I was working in a tortilla business in Guatemala City, but I am back home and now I am helping my mother do chores at home. My dream is to have my own tortilla business and to help my mother with home expenses. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish in order to improve my communication with others. Christmas is my favorite celebration of the year because we prepare delicious food for lunch. I like to drink coffee.  Among sports, football is my favorite. What I like to have for my birthday is a delicious cake and share it with my family. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child every December and for everything you have done for me. I hope you like my letter. May God reward you in every area of your life.

Warm regards,

Esperanza Pastor Chingo
