My Story

My name is Nelson Armando, and I am glad to greet you through this means. I hope you are keeping well. My family and I attend the Prince of Peace Church every Friday. My father, Julio Luis, is 40 years old. He makes a living in a grocery store in Zacualpa town to support our needs. Because of his job, he lives in that town. So, he usually visits us every fifteen days. My mother, Marta Garcia, is 32 years old. She keeps busy doing the chores and taking care of my siblings and me. Thankfully, we are all in good health. We need groceries and firewood at home. My family and I do our best at home to grow corn for our consumption. 

As for me, I want you to know that I turned fourteen years old in April. To celebrate my birthday, I love doing many things such as breaking a piñata (a typical birthday puppet). I am in fifth grade and I agree to attend face-to-face classes at school because I learn so much better. My father is the only one who covers the bills and needs at home, so he has trouble covering my school equipment. I would love to make my own money by working in a grocery store as my dad does. I also would like to speak Spanish better since my native language is the K’iche dialect. Therefore, I would like to count on your prayers for me and my future. New Year’s Day is my favorite holiday because I enjoy burning firecrackers to celebrate. I love drinking peach juice and playing soccer. This is all for now about my life. Before ending this letter, let me tell you that LW has been an enormous blessing for my whole family and me. A teacher of the evangelism team spoke with me to share the gospel and collect all this information for you. I say goodbye to you for now, but I send you many kisses and hugs.
