My Story

It is a wonderful day to say hello to you and I hope you are blessed by our Lord! Praise the Lord my family and I attend Catholic Church; we go on Sundays. We believe in God and trust our salvation in Him, but we appreciate so much the encouraging words that LW staff gave us this time. My family and I are in good health, thanks to the Lord. My mother is Marcela Morente Cux, and she is 43 years old. She is a housewife, and she also raises hens, sheep, cows and pigs to sell to contribute with the income. My father is Victoriano Coj Morente, and he is 44 years old. He is employed as a day laborer and is the one who supplies the family´s needs. At home, we harvest lemon, corn and black beans for the family's consumption.

I am Hugo Noel Coj Morente, and I am a 14-year-old boy. I attend 7th grade; I receive classes at school and my learning is better. This year, it was challenging for my parents to register me at school and buy the uniforms; they did not have enough income to supply everything. Later, I would like to travel to the United States to work and help my family economically. The language I would like to learn is English; it is so interesting. The sport I like the most is football. My favorite drink is oatmeal which is delicious. On my birthday, I like to celebrate with my family, and we usually prepare something at home. Christmas is my favorite celebration of the year; at home, we prepare and eat “tamales” (typical dish). It is a very special time for me. Being part of Living Water has blessed my life with the tasty meals I receive in the program, and it is so helpful for me and my family. My family needs groceries and clothes. I hope you enjoy my letter. Many and abundant blessings to you!

Special regards,

Hugo Noel Coj Morente
