My Story

Hi! It is a pleasure to greet you cordially and I hope you have a beautiful and brilliant day. First of all, my family and I are grateful to Living Water because I receive medical and dental attention in the LW clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. I want to let you know that we are attending the Ebenezer Church every Thursday and Saturday.  Thank you to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to my grandmother during the visit. So, we are sure of our salvation in Jesus. My mother´s name is Graciela De La Cruz Benito. She is 36 years old. At the moment, she continues doing chores at home, raising hens and pigs to sell and get some income. Moreover, she washes clothes for others in order to have extra money for our expenses. My father´s name is Juan Adan De La Cruz Gutierrez.  He is 30 years old. As you know, my father continues living in the United States. Unfortunately, he has another partner there and he is not contributing economically to us.  Sometimes, I have to ask him for some money for the family. We grow corn and black beans for our family´s consumption. As a humble family, our current needs are groceries and corn. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Joselyn Ines de la Cruz de la Cruz and I am 12 years old. This year I am in 6th grade at school. I receive face-to-face classes every day and I am learning a lot about homework. Currently, my mother is making an effort to support me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive. Sometimes, it is difficult to cover every expense. In the future, I want to become a good merchandiser. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think this is a very interesting language. Winter is my favorite season of the year because I enjoy playing outside when it is raining. I like to drink “mosh” (a hot beverage made of oatmeal). Among sports, I like athletics. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through Living Water Adopt-A-Child every December. I hope you like to read my letter. May God bless you richly!

Huge hugs,

Joselyn Ines de la Cruz de la Cruz
