My Story

Hello, it is so nice to greet you through this short update. I hope you are well wherever you are. L am Leonel Gerardo de la Cruz Garcia. I am a thirteen-year-old boy who lives in the rural mountains of Guatemala. I am so excited because I will turn fourteen on November 28. I am in sixth grade this year, and I want to tell you that I was so excited when I learned that I had passed my grade last year. It was so important to me to do well, and it is a memorable achievement. I know God gave me a lot of wisdom and knowledge to do well in my studies and this helped me. I want to say that Jesus is my Savior, and we go to church at Source of Light and Life Church. I love going with my family and learning about the Bible stories. Our favorite service at church is the Thanksgiving service for the harvest each year. My dad’s name is Gerardo de la Cruz Mendez. He is a farmer and laborer. He is the one who provides for our family.

I love being with my dad because I get to go to work with him at his job. My mom’s name is Cristina Garcia Riz. She is a housewife. She takes care of me and my siblings, and she also raises chickens so she can sell them and make some money for our family needs. I also have a friend named Francisco. We have been friends since we were little, and we love playing soccer together. That is all for now, but I hope you enjoyed reading a little bit about me. I am so grateful for your time.
