My Story

Hello, it is a great blessing for me to write you this letter to tell you more about my family and me. My name is Ashli Hermelinda Luis Garcia. I am 8 years old, and I am repeating 1st grade this year. I attend school in the morning, and I enjoy playing with my cousins on weekends. I feel so blessed to be part of Living Water because everything I receive there is a great blessing for us. The food I like to eat the most is fried chicken and the Christmas celebration at the feeding program is my favorite celebration because I receive my Christmas gift. Sadly, I continue suffering from pneumonia, but I have received medical attention from the LW doctor. 

Thankfully, my mother is in good health condition; she is a housewife and looks after my brother and me. Unfortunately, some months ago my father took the decision of committing suicide. He poisoned himself and was taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, the doctors could not save him; this was something sad for us. Since it happened, even though we have our own house, my mother decided to go to my maternal grandparents’ house. My grandfather Sabino is covering our needs by working both as a farmer and day laborer, and my grandmother, Carmen sells beauty products by catalogue. My grandfather is going to support us as much as he can. He also has some crops at home and raises hens for our own consumption. We are members of an Adventist Church, and my mother already accepted Jesus as her savior some time ago; I have not done it yet, but I hope to do it in the right time.
