Persons In Need
Greetings and many blessings! It is a pleasure to send you this short update on behalf of my daughter Estela Luis Ruiz. I am her mother, Tomasa Ruiz. I am happy to tell you that she is doing well. She is 41 years old now. As you know, she is mentally handicap. She cannot do much on her own. She does not have a job or any responsibilities. She lives at home with us, her parents, and her siblings. My other children also have special needs. Estela is one of five that are mentally handicap. My husband is a day laborer, and he is the primary provider for our family. He doesn’t make very much, but we get by with what he earns. I sometimes sell chickens when we need extra money, but otherwise, I stay home to take care of my children and the housework. One of my other sons, Estela’s brother, lives and works in the USA. He sometimes sends a little money for us when he can afford to, but he can’t always do this. He sent money for us to start construction on two new rooms for our house, but it was not enough to finish the project, so we had to pause the construction. We pray God will provide so we can finish these rooms. We go to church as a family at an evangelical church, but Estela doesn’t like to go with us.
We are a Christian family, and we believe Jesus is the Lord and our Savior. I am happy that Estela is doing better now. She used to have fits where she would get violent and leave the house, but she has calmed down now. She can’t help much with chores or housework at home. She just sits or walks around. I go out to get her food from the program each week and bring it back to her. Thankfully, she is healthy, and we know God is always with us. I send much love to you and your loved ones. I hope you enjoyed reading this short update. Thank you for your love and support. Until next time!
With much love,
Estela Luis Ruiz
