My Story

Many blessings and greetings to you and your loved ones. I am Salvador Alexander Riz Matías, your sponsored child from Guatemala. I am so happy to share some updated information with you today. First, I want to thank you for taking the time to read my update. It makes me feel so special to know you love me. I am eight years old now. I am so excited because I will turn nine on December 20^th this year. That’s so close to ten! I am in second grade now. Thankfully, it has gone well in school, and we are finishing the school year now. My mom and dad are very important and special to me because I love the people that they are and their character. My dad’s name is Carlos Riz Riz, and my mom is Estela Matías Ramos. Dad is the one who provides for our family financially. He works as a paid laborer and farmer. My mom stays at home to take care of me and my siblings, and she does the housework. She works hard taking care of our chickens as well. She sells them when they grow a little bit so she can make some extra money to pay for our home expenses.

Thankfully, we are all doing well and healthy, but I will say that it is difficult sometimes when my grandma gets sick. She is very old, so when she gets sick, it is dangerous, and it is getting harder to take care of her. We pray that God will give us new strength and what we need to take care of her. He always provides in the right way. He encourages me every day. My best friend’s name is Adrian. We have been friends since we were little. We love playing soccer together. My family does not attend a church, but my mom was encouraged by the evangelism teacher at Living Water to find a church and to seek the Lord. They told her about the gospel of Jesus and invited her to accept Jesus in her heart, but she wasn’t ready to make a decision, so they just prayed that God would work in her heart. We are grateful for everything we have received through Living Water Adopt-A-Child. I hope you have enjoyed reading my information today. I send much love to you and your loved ones.
