My Story

Zacualpa is a small but busy village in a mountain valley. The village is inhabited by both Quiche Mayans and Ladinos (those with mixed European ancestry). The prevalent language is Spanish. Families in this village live in one or two room homes generally constructed of either wood or adobe. Although many of the people are farmers, the village contains several small specialized stores, a body repair shop for buses, mechanics, plumbers and many other small town tradesmen. It also has a large open air market which serves much of the area. Even with all of this, the poverty level is very high and the children are very needy.

My name is Ostin Alejandro Revolorio Argueta and I am so happy to greet you. I was born on March 12, 2020. I am 5 years old and I am in good health. I am in pre-kinder and I am learning a lot. My favorite color is sky blue. I love eating Hawaiian pizza and my favorite animal is the capybara. In my spare time, I like watching TV and playing soccer with my brother. I only have one brother. My father is the one who supports our family. His name is William Alexander Revolorio Moncada. He delivers water and paints houses to make a living. On the other hand, my mom is dedicated to caring for my brother and me. Her name is Jenifer Gabriela Argueta Villegas. Please pray for my family and our needs. One of our greatest needs is food.

As for our spiritual life, let me tell you that we do not attend a church at the moment. So please, pray for us. We live in a rented house, so we pay Q1000=$129.66 monthly. The house is made of concrete blocks with a concrete roof and a ceramic floor. It has three rooms, a separate kitchen, electricity and running water. We pay for running water annually and the electricity is paid monthly. My family and I are grateful to God because I am already part of LW-Adopt a Child. To get to the feeding program, we take a tuk-tuk. The journey takes us 10 minutes from our house. I send you many kisses and hugs, hoping to hear from you next time. Have a great day!

From the bottom of my heart,

Ostin Alejandro Revolorio Argueta
