Chixocol
Guatemala
Child
Chixocol, where your child lives, is a very small village nestled in a mountain valley in the state of Quiché, Guatemala. Life in this state is very difficult and somewhat isolated from the outside world. Most families live in one-room adobe houses with dirt floors and a small attached kitchen. The extremely poor live in houses made of corn stalks. In the past few years electricity and water have become available to most people in the area - however, indoor plumbing is very rare. Most of the families are farmers or shepherds and live off the fruits of their labors. Public education is available for those who can afford it and consider it of value. Life in Quiché is always a challenge.
Hello! I am very happy to share my information through this. My full name is Denilson Jhonathan Morente Martin. My birth date is May 1st, 2018, and I was born in Zacualpa, Quiche, Guatemala. I will turn 7 years old this year, and thanks to God, I am healthy. I attend first grade at school this year. My hobby is playing football. My favorite color is red and the animal I like the most is the cat. I love eating hamburgers. I live with my mother, four brothers and four sisters. I am very happy to be part of the feeding program and I walk 40 minutes to arrive there; I attend with my siblings.
My father´s name is Carlos Morente Morente. He is not living with us because he got separated from my mother about three years ago. However, he is giving us financial support every month. My mother´s name is Sebastiana Martin Guarcas. She is a housewife and also raises hens and pigs for selling. Additionally, my older sister Claudia works as a domestic employee and helps my mother to supply the home needs. Thankfully, my father and siblings are doing well. In my mother´s case, she suffers from gastritis and visited a doctor. For now, she is taking natural medicines. We are members of the Prince of Peace Church. My mother owns the house in which we live; there are three concrete blocks rooms, the roof is made of tin sheets and it has a cement floor. The kitchen is separated. We have running water and electricity services; my mother pays for them. As a family, our greatest needs are groceries and clothes. Thank you for reading my information. Many and rich blessings over you!
Hugs with much affection,
Denilson Jhonathan Morente Martin
