Pasojoc III, where your child lives, is located in an extremely remote area of the mountains in Quiche, Guatemala. Life in this area is very difficult and very isolated from the outside world. It is a 3-hour walk to the nearest market town. The people who inhabit the area are Quiche Mayans who can trace their ancestral roots to the ancient Mayan civilization. They normally speak a Mayan dialect called Quiche, however, Spanish is becoming more common. The climate is basically warm, but it can get very cold at night. Houses in this area are typically constructed of adobe with tin sheet or tile roofs and dirt floors. Pasojoc III is an area rich with natural resources. It is a farming area where the inhabitants grow staples such as corn, beans and other types of vegetables. Many families also raise domestic animals such as sheep, goats, cows and chickens.
Hello! this is Santos Angel Garcia De La Cruz and my birthdate is February 13, 2021. I was born in Zacualpa, Quiche. I am a healthy boy and I am 4 years old. I am not enrolled at school due to my young age, but I stay at home playing with toy cars and balls. My favorite food is eggs and I love the color blue. I like horses. I walk one hour to the Feeding Center along with my mother. At the moment, we are not attending any church. I live under my mother`s care because she is a single mom. Unfortunately, my biological father abandoned her when she was pregnant, and he has never legally recognized me. Her name is Marcelina Garcia De La Cruz. She is in good health and she earns a living by raising and selling hens. In addition, she travels to the coast twice a year to pick coffee beans during the harvest. Fortunately, my maternal grandparents support my mother with the home expenses. Our current needs are groceries and clothes.
We live in my grandfather`s house and he is Santos Garcia. We share the house with my grandparents, some uncles and cousins. We have three rooms with a separated kitchen. The house is made of adobe walls, tin sheet roof and dirt floors. We have running water, but no electricity. We use candles at night for light. My father pays the water service once a year. We have hens and cows but we would like to have chicks because we have enough space in the house. Well, this is my personal information and I hope you enjoy reading it. I send you all the best!
In Jesus name,
Santos Angel Garcia De La Cruz
