Pasojoc III
Guatemala
Child
Pasojoc III, where your child lives, is located in an extremely remote area of the mountains in Quiche, Guatemala. Life in this area is very difficult and very isolated from the outside world. It is a 3-hour walk to the nearest market town. The people who inhabit the area are Quiche Mayans who can trace their ancestral roots to the ancient Mayan civilization. They normally speak a Mayan dialect called Quiche, however, Spanish is becoming more common. The climate is basically warm, but it can get very cold at night. Houses in this area are typically constructed of adobe with tin sheet or tile roofs and dirt floors. Pasojoc III is an area rich with natural resources. It is a farming area where the inhabitants grow staples such as corn, beans and other types of vegetables. Many families also raise domestic animals such as sheep, goats, cows and chickens.
Hello! I am Carlos Leonardo Cho De La Cruz and I was born on August 19, 2020, so I am 5 years old. I am not enrolled at school yet because of my age, but I stay at home and play soccer. I love doggies and my favorite food is fried chicken. I like the color blue, and thank God, I am in good health. We live under my grandmother`s care. Her name is Santos Ajqui. She takes care of us because my father, Carlos Rigoberto Cho Can, is living and working in the United States. He works as a gardener and sends us money to cover our family needs while my mother, Aura de la Cruz Ajqui, is living and working in Guatemala City in the tortillas business and as a maid. She also supports us financially. In spite of this, the money is not enough to cover every expense and we are in needed of groceries and corn. I am thankful because my whole family and I are in good health.
We live in my grandparent`s house and we have two rooms and one kitchen made of adobe walls, tin sheet roof and dirt floor. We have running water and electricity. My father sends the money to pay for the services. We have pigs and hens at home, but we would like to have some chicks because we have a little space for them. Our current needs are groceries and corn. My sister and I are part of the Feeding Program and we only walk ten minutes to arrive there. We are attending the Prince of Peace New Covenant Christian Church. I send you all my love. This was my personal information and I hope you like it. Blessings to you in the name of Jesus!
Huge hugs,
Carlos Leonardo Cho De La Cruz
