Chixocol
Guatemala
Child
Chixocol, where your child lives, is a very small village nestled in a mountain valley in the state of Quiché, Guatemala. Life in this state is very difficult and somewhat isolated from the outside world. Most families live in one-room adobe houses with dirt floors and a small attached kitchen. The extremely poor live in houses made of corn stalks. In the past few years electricity and water have become available to most people in the area - however, indoor plumbing is very rare. Most of the families are farmers or shepherds and live off the fruits of their labors. Public education is available for those who can afford it and consider it of value. Life in Quiché is always a challenge.
Hello! My name is Yackelyn Belinda Tzoy Gomez, and I am a healthy girl. I was born on March 16, 2021, so I am 4 years old now. I am not attending school yet due to my age, so I stay at home coloring my books. I like the color pink, and I love chicks. My favorite food is fried chicken. I have four brothers, and three of them are registered at the feeding program too. I live 10 minutes away from the program, and my mom sometimes accompanies us. As a family, we are attending Christian Life Church. Our needs are groceries, so please pray for it.
My father is Pablo Tzoy Turquiz, and he works as a farmer and day laborer to cover our needs. My mother is Herlinda Gomez Luis de Tzoy, and she is a housewife. I would like to ask for your prayers for my parents because my dad suffers from diabetes and my mom suffers from gastritis; they are only taking natural medicine. We live in our own house, and it has three rooms and a kitchen; it is made of concrete block with a tin sheet roof and concrete floor. We have running water and electricity services. We have hens at home. This is all for now. May God bless you!
Sincerely yours
Yackelyn Belinda Tzoy Gomez
