My Story

Chixocol, where your child lives, is a very small village nestled in a mountain valley in the state of Quiché, Guatemala. Life in this state is very difficult and somewhat isolated from the outside world. Most families live in one-room adobe houses with dirt floors and a small attached kitchen. The extremely poor live in houses made of corn stalks. In the past few years electricity and water have become available to most people in the area - however, indoor plumbing is very rare. Most of the families are farmers or shepherds and live off the fruits of their labors. Public education is available for those who can afford it and consider it of value. Life in Quiché is always a challenge.

Hello! How are you? This is my information. My name is Ana Clarisa Aguilar Tzoc, and I was born on November 19, 2019. I am 5 years old, and I am fine and healthy. I am attending pre-kindergarten this year, and in my free time, I play with my dolls. I like the color purple, and I love cats and dogs. My favorite food is pizza. I have one brother and two sisters, and two of them are registered at the feeding program too. We pay a moto-taxi to arrive at the program, and it takes us 5 minutes; my mother accompanies us. My family and I attend Liberty Church in Zacualpa town. We are a humble family, and our frequent needs are groceries and clothes.

My father’s name is Bayron Estuardo Aguilar Aguilar, and my mother’s name is Ana Gricelda Tzoc Chingo. My parents earn a living by selling typical snacks from Monday to Sunday; my mom also raises and sells hens and pigs, and she was who helped me with this letter. They are both in good health. We live in our own house, and it has one room and a kitchen. The house is made of concrete block with a concrete roof and ceramic floor. We have running water and electricity services. We have hens and pigs at home. This is all for now.
