Zacualpa is a small but busy village in a mountain valley. The village is inhabited by both Quiché Indians and Ladinos (those with mixed European ancestry). The prevalent language is Spanish. Families in this village live in one or two room homes generally constructed of either wood or adobe. Although many of the people are farmers, the village contains several small specialized stores, a body repair shop for buses, mechanics, plumbers and many other small-town tradesmen. It also has a large open-air market which serves much of the area. Even with all of this, the poverty level is very high and the children are very needy.
Hello! Sindy Viviana Perez Tino. I was born in Santa Cruz del Quiche, Guatemala on July 02, 2020 and I am five years old. I am not studying because of my age. I like to draw and paint in my spare time. I love cats and the color pink. I like to eat sausages. I have suffered from bronchitis since I was born, but I am under medical treatment. I have two sisters and one brother. Two of them are registered in the Feeding Program. My siblings, my mother and I travel by bus for 30 minutes to get there. My mother accompanies us to the project. My parent`s names are Mirna Consuelo Tino Riz and Mateo Perez Morales. My father works as a farmer and he works chopping and carrying firewood to sell while my mother dedicates her time to the family. Unfortunately, she suffers from her nerves and headaches. She visited the doctor and is taking medicine but she continues with the diseases. I would like to ask for your prayers for her health.
We live in my father`s house and we share the house with my grandfather and paternal uncles. We have three rooms made of adobe walls, tin sheet roof and dirt floors. We have running water and electricity, so my father pays a monthly bill. We also have hens and dogs at home, but we would like to have some chicks and we have enough space in the house for them. We are a humble family and our frequent needs are corn and groceries. I want you to know that we are members of Full Gospel Christian Church. This is my personal information and I hope you like to read it. May God bless you greatly!
Kisses and hugs,
Sindy Viviana Perez Tino
