Widow/Widower
Hello! My name is Alberta Alla. I am 38 years old. My birthday is on February 22nd. Roland was the name of my husband. Seven years ago he passed away and I have decided to live as a widow. I have passed a great loss and am left to live along without the care and support of my husband. Because I am a widow I receive a social assistance. Speaking about my health I am doing well. I have three children, a son and two daughters. My son’s name is Ali. At present he is 13 years old and attends the 7th grade at school. One of my daughter’s names is Amelja. She is 14 years old and attends the 9th grade at school. The name of my other daughter is Luisa, she is 16 years old and attends the 2nd year in high school in another country. In my house we are nine people. Besides my two younger children my husband's brother with his wife and children and my parents-in-law live in the home. The family is not able to help me. I am busy doing the housekeeping. In my free time I like to do some crafts. We live in Verri and this village is very small. My children go to school in Proptisht and go there together. I also go often to Proptisht when I need to do shopping. We have a market day there once a week on Saturdays. While going to Proptisht, I meet with the Pastor and the team of the church there and join the ladies meetings and the church services. The Adopt a Child and the church there have constantly supported me and my children and I am blessed to be part of the sponsorship programme. I am very thankful to all of those who are providing food to my children and to me. Both my children are also in the program and the three of us benefit. Same as all the people who live in the village, I own land and deal with agriculture. I have planted a vegetable garden close to our home and have provided for myself and my children potatoes, beans, onions, peppers, tomatoes and other vegetables. Besides the vegetables I have also planted corn. We have consumed these vegetables constantly during the summer and haven’t had the need to buy them. I have got 10 chicken and can gain a few eggs daily to consume on our breakfast. I have a cow, and we have milk, butter, cheese, yoghurt for our self consumption. Since my husband died, my children are receiving a small pension dedicated to orphans (left with one parent). I am using this amount to buy more food for us to consume. Being a widow I am facing various hardships to care for myself and my children. I am a housewife and I don't have any job. I am thankful to you at Adopt a Child program who are helping and carrying for me and my children. I believe in the Lord Jesus.
The Living Water Adopt a Child team is doing on two days during the week meetings in Proptisht. There they have rented a room. On Monday there is a ladies meeting taking place in a private home. Another ladies meeting and also a men's meeting are being held in the place they have rented. The children gather in Bible classes and when the Bible classes are completed, the team goes to visit homes and spread the good news whenever they are invited. On Wednesdays is church service. My children and I are Christians and we attend the church services. I am also part of the ladies meeting. We are grateful to recieve the food packages. The package contains food items as sugar, rice, oil, pasta, etc, items that can be cooked and can cover ten to twelve meals for the whole family. Thank you for helping the widows and through them the whole community spiritually and physically.
